2X your intelligence

I was wrong.
All 4672 times I said we overthink because we’re smart.
The truth is:
We overthink because we’re not smart enough.
Let me explain.
We're born with the potential to be smart in two ways:
Analytic, logical intelligence
Emotional intelligence and intuitive insight
But we only use the first kind.
We develop it in school, where right answers are the key to gold stars.
Every question in school has a right answer. We keep doubling down on analysis and logic all the way into real life.
But we learn to shut down the second kind of smart very early in life.
Because adults who don't know how to handle them teach us that our feelings are wrong. We learn to "behave" for affection and to doubt and be scared of our feelings.
If nothing changes, we go through life using 50% of the intelligence we were born with.
This shows up as:
All the flavors of overthinking
Feeling empty or bored
Not knowing what we feel, want, or what to do
Ignoring, dismissing, or avoiding our feelings
The lack of heart smarts is most obvious and painful in our relationships. Including the one we have with ourselves.
Because your dream house of real, lasting connection is built on a foundation of emotional awareness and intuition.
The solution?
Reclaim your emotional intelligence and intuitive insight.
Not so you can ditch analysis and logic and live happily ever after in touchy-feely, tie-dyed bliss.
But so you can be head smart and heart smart.
